Kootenay & Boundary Local Food – Why & Where

Why buying food grown in Kootenay & Boundary is important: Providing food from our bio-region is important for our local economy. This will offset rising costs, transportation issues, and environmental concerns. On the positive side, it is ever more apparent that raising more high quality food locally is healthier both to ourselves and our communities. Good local food assures the long term viability of our agricultural sector and strengthens our regional economy.  KBFPC members are committed to working to increase local food production in the Kootenay & Boundary from the farm to the plate and build the community of growers, makers and eaters in our region!
